Memorial

The Anthony Fimognari Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Anthony, who tragically passed away in 2018 at the age of 20. He was a junior at the University of Akron in Ohio and was pursuing a degree in Music Performance on Saxophone and Clarinet.

Each year a $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to each of two high school seniors; one from Lowellville High School & one from the Youngstown State University Youth Orchestra to assist with costs in attending the college of their choice.

Lowellville
High School

Anthony was a 2016 graduate of Lowellville High School, in Lowellville, Ohio. While at LHS Anthony excelled academically and in Music and Drama. Music helped Anthony make sense of the world, and when he played, he played from his heart. People say that’s what made him such an unforgettable musician.

Anthony’s family is honored to be able to continue Anthony’s legacy with this scholarship that is now offered to Lowellville High school students of any major.

Youngstown State University Youth Orchestra

This group of musicians was special to Anthony. He loved the dedication and hard work needed to perform in this ensemble because they cared about music the way he did. In 2016 he was selected as the senior solo concerto winner on Clarinet and was privileged to perform under the direction of the legendary Dr. Stephen Gage.

Anthony’s family is honored to be able to continue Anthony’s legacy with this scholarship that is offered to high school senior members of the YSUYO of any major.
